Notes
West Bay sits just outside the town centre, making it easy to combine the beach with a walk along the seafront or a visit to nearby cafés and shops. The shoreline changes noticeably with the tide.
On calm days the water often looks smooth and quiet, with wide views across the bay. It’s a low-effort coastal location that doesn’t require any hiking.
Parking is available at Glenmorag Car Park, located very close to the shoreline.
Around 2–5 minutes from the car park to the beach.
⭐☆☆☆☆ (Very easy). Easy access, flat walking and no hiking required.
Yes — easy access and flat walking, but take care near the waterline.

• Dunoon lies on the Cowal Peninsula overlooking the Firth of Clyde.
• The beach looks very different at low and high tide.
• The area is popular for gentle coastal walks and photography.
Coastal weather can change quickly, and surfaces near the water may be slippery after rain.
